In the Mail Today: 2 Back to the future!

This actually came a couple weeks ago but has completely changed my approached to how I work. Granted it's just another tool, but it helps me when I have a project with a quick turn around. I'd rather have pencil to paper or a more traditional approach, but this way I can do roughs or sketches digitally to email or correct through Photoshop.

I recommend it.

In the Mail Today: 1

And in the mailbox came.....

My addictions are Art Books and Video Games. They're in the mail quite often.
I watched my brother-in-law playing ArkhamCity and I was sold!

Let the games begin!!!!

Rolling Stone Cover: Smashing Pumpkins!

I wanted to cover an older cover I did while in College. As some of you know I have been going through some old comp and thumbnails and are redoing the art or creating new art along the same lines. This was one of my first multimedia pieces where I practically used everything. It's comprised of watercolors, colored pencils, gouache, digital, and pen & ink. I look back and see it as a complete mess. It's one that may be redone or I just might make a completely new one.
I don't have a lot of the complete process.
I will be more diligent in the near future when it comes to documentation of process.

Here is the original scan. The colors are a little washed out

Here is the adjusted image. Done in Photoshop, I just want to bump the colors and contrast a bit.

Here is the image with Header and issue tag. I did these in Illustrator and dropped them in Photoshop. I'm a stickler for authenticity and spend probably too many hours measuring margins, type heights and PMS color matching.

...And the final cropped to size.

Amelie's Birthday Invites: 1 Year Old!

Being parents with jobs in the creative field lends us to go all out for our daughters birthday parties. My wife, a graphic designer (http://www.katiepalamaro.com/) looks forward to it as a child does Christmas and counts down the days from the previous birthday. The idea is I would take care of the illustrations and my wife would design and lay it out. Every year also carries a theme and with that, after the character design are finished I would create a cake topper. Here is what we came up with for birthday Numero Uno!!!!

If you'd like to see the cake topper or the amazing work my wife does, please check out her blog at:
